Somersfield Academy, an International Baccalaureate World School offering both the Middle Years (MYP) and Diploma Programmes (DP) following a Primary foundation of a fully recognised Montessori programme, is seeking an experienced Secondary College/Careers Counsellor to join our administrative team, starting for the 2026-27 academic school year.Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive university and college guidance, including application support, scholarship advice, and career counselling for students and parents. Develop and implement a careers and university preparation program, including workshops, information sessions, and university tours. Build and maintain relationships with universities and admissions officers in the UK, USA, and Canada to create opportunities for students. Oversee and manage all aspects of the university application process, including transcripts, recommendations, deadlines, and testing oversight. Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience: At least 5 years proven experience as a careers counsellor at the secondary or tertiary level. A tertiary education relevant to the position. Knowledge and experience of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. Established relationships with the IBO and universities in the UK, USA, and Canada. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all school stakeholders. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, collaborate, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure.

Requirements

At least 5 years proven experience as a careers counsellor at the secondary or tertiary level. A tertiary education relevant to the position. Knowledge and experience of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. Established relationships with the IBO and universities in the UK, USA, and Canada.
