The Senior Accountant - Capital Partners & Strategic Investments role will be responsible for supporting the financial accounting, intermal controls, budgeting, and financial reporting for the company as appropriate based on a specific function area. This role will participate in projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting requirements in an increasingly complex environment, including leading smaller projects or certain work streams within larger projects. May be required to help prepare budgets and other financial plans for management information, corporate entities, and third parties in conjunction with the company's Financial Planning and Analysis activities. The Senior Accountant - Capital Partners & Strategic Investments has close interaction across multiple areas of the business and works with the wider Finance Team to add value across relevant teams.
Principal Accountabilities:
Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting:
Support the preparation of accurate financial reporting, both for intemal and external purposes following required GAAP and regulatory standards, including providing support for more technical areas.
Assist in the generation of monthly and quarterly financial statements and NAV calculations.
Assist with the preparation of detailed analysis and reconciliation of GAAP results for various managed Joint Ventures, Fund Structures, and Strategic Investments to ensure a thorough understanding of reported results, troubleshooting any issues through to a successful conclusion.
Assist with complex joint ventures and fund activities, including NAV estimates and fee calculations, accruals and billings, and other ad hoc support as needed.
Provide support to the business lead and Head of Finance on capital-raising activities and investor queries.
Work with relevant partners to ensure the accuracy of transactions and financial disclosure.
Support the continued enhancement and ongoing development of multiple financial systems ensuring that all Finance needs are met.
Assist with completing aspects of the monthly close, including financial reporting, in compliance with US, or other relevant GAAP, or other regulatory requirements.
Help prepare and review detailed analysis and monthly/quarterly reconciliations, including reconciliation to the general ledger.
Communicate with our auditors.
Assist with the preparation of technical accounting memos observing US GAAP and help prepare more technically challenging accounting memos.
Ensure appropriate SOX 404 processes exist and are followed for the preparation and submission of financial data.
Support the preparation of budgets and other financial plans for management information, corporate entities, and third parties.
Provide ad-hoc support to the CAO, Global Corporate Controller and business lead.
Strategic Projects:
Participate in miscellaneous project work and provide general assistance to the Finance Department and other teams.

Requirements
A bachelor's or university degree preferred, or comparable experience.
A professional accounting designation is
required (e.g. CA, ACA, CPA).
At least 2 to 5 years relevant prior
experience (Ideally Big Four audit
experience), preferably within the relevant
functional area (e.g. investments,
insurance), and 2 years of industry
experience, of which a minimum of 1 year
must be focused on third-party capital
providers.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP,
particularly as it relates to FASB
consolidation and equity method guidance,
fair value guidance and derivative
guidance, and proven ability to analyze
FASB guidance and apply it to business
activities required.
Experience with public companies and
SOX 404 is advantageous.
Strong working knowledge of general
ledger and other accounting sub-systems
is advantageous.
