This is a full-time role providing daily care, companionship, and support for a married, elderly family member, Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 8:30pm. Duties will include providing companionship and emotional support, assisting with personal care, mobility, daily routines and activities of daily living, meal preparation, light housekeeping, supporting prescribed exercise and speech therapy exercises, medication routines, transportation to medical appointments, shopping, social engagements and recreational activities. The successful candidate will also provide evening monitoring and oversight, encourage participation in family life, friendships, community activities, outings and hobbies, and monitor and communicate any changes in health, mobility, cognition, communication or behavior to family members.
Requirements
Experience providing care and companionship to older adults, preferably including individuals living with Parkinson's disease, cognitive decline, or other neurological conditions. A Certified Nursing Aide qualification or comparable certification is required, along with professional licensing/registration with the Bermuda Health Council and/or Bermuda Nursing Council. Candidates must hold a valid Bermuda driver's license (or be willing to obtain one) and maintain a safe driving record. Experience preparing healthy meals and maintaining a welcoming, clean and well-organized, pet friendly, home environment is also required.
