Our client, GL Construction, is seeking applicants for the position of Mason. Key Responsibilities Include: Preparation of surfaces prior to commencement of work; Building, altering & repairing brick, stone, tile ceramic and concrete structures; Accurately reading blueprints, site layouts and elevations; Completing installations and repair work including but not limited to tile floors and walls; Plastering ceilings and walls; Mixing cement with the use of appropriate equipment and/or hand tools; Determining work requirements and sequence of masonry; Estimating materials effectively to minimize rework and costs; Safely operating heavy equipment as required.
Requirements
Minimum of 4 years of experience as a top grade mason; Completion of relevant Technical or Apprenticeship training; Mason or Brick Layer Red Seal Certification preferred; Working knowledge of standard practices, materials and tools of the masonry trade; Proven track record of reading blueprints, site layouts and elevations; Proven ability to work well under pressure and effectively with others; Clean criminal record; Willing to work weekends and holidays as required; Skills and pre-employment drug testing will be administered.
