Chubb invites applications for the position of Assistant Vice President & Actuary. Reporting to the Chief Actuary for Chubb Group Bermuda Operations, this role is integral to the actuarial function for ACE INA Overseas Insurance Company (AIOIC) and its subsidiary Chubb INA Overseas Insurance Company (CIOIC), both internal reinsurers within the Chubb Group. The position also involves supporting risk, capital and reporting activities across all Bermuda legal entities, with a strong emphasis on process improvement and automation. With operations in 54 countries, Chubb is one of the world's largest multi-line property and casualty insurers. Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to: -AIOIC/CIOIC: Evaluate the reasonableness of reserves reported by cedants, including independent estimates of reserves Prepare management reports on reserves and conduct development analysis Collaborate with the Finance team all financial reporting and regulatory returns Manage and prepare actuarial contributions for Regulatory Filings including: Prepare the Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) Technical Provision (TP) calculations for Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) regulatory filings Prepare the year-end actuarial information required for the BSCR submission Prepare the Commercial Insurer's Solvency-Self Assessment (CISSA) and conduct stress testing Perform internal transfer pricing for reinsurance treaties between AIOIC and other Chubb entities. -Bermuda Region Chubb Legal Entities: Develop responses to new actuarial & risk reporting requirements for all Bermuda Legal entities Enhance processes through automation across all Bermuda Legal entities Ensure a consistent actuarial approach across all Bermuda Legal entities Support ad hoc projects as required, including pricing, capital modelling, reinsurance purchases, and reporting to Chubb Group The successful candidate should have: At least eight years work experience in relevant actuarial roles - Fellowship of an actuarial professional body Experience with actuarial techniques for general insurance and /or reinsurance business Experience communicating actuarial results to management - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel -Programming experience required, with R or Python preferred -Experience of Bermuda TPs & BSCR or their Solvency II equivalents preferred but not essential Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work on his or her own initiative and in a team environment. -Ability to meet tight deadlines and work extended hours and weekends when required
