BELCO is seeking a Specialist Cable Jointer to join our Transmission, Distribution & Retail team. The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out duties that encompass a wide range of transmission and distribution work at voltages up to and including 34.5kV. Key responsibilities include installation, termination, and jointing of power utility equipment, periodic inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. The role also involves allocating work to craftspeople and providing on-the-job training.

Requirements

High School leaving certificate or equivalent; Technical Qualification such as BTEC, NVQ Level 4, City and Guilds (Part 1), ONC or equivalent with minimum 4 year apprenticeship; In-depth knowledge of cable jointing and termination; First-Aid certified; Ability to climb and work in confined spaces; Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
