Relief Cook- Casual

BHB ensures the highest in quality health care through service excellence, education and leadership. We seek qualified, highly motivated, and experienced professionals to work in a supportive but demanding environment. Under the general direction of the head cook, the relief cook is responsible for relieving the head cook, first cook, second cook and the baker. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains high standards of quality food production and portion control using standardized recipes. Constantly and consistently works towards attaining the objective of high quality, safe, appealing, nutritionally adequate meal service to patients and staff. Assists in other production and service areas as requested. The need for this may arise through unexpected staff shortages, unpredicted high workloads, late arrival of supplies, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of two years hospitality experience in all areas of catering is essential. A minimum of two years experience in all areas of large quantity food production. Must have formal training – a minimum of City and Guilds 706-2 or equivalent. Must possess ample knowledge of sanitary standards of food service, proper cooking methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization and yield of meats and other foods in order to retain their nutritional quality, flavor, appearance.
