Assistant Financial Controller

We invite applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill the position of Assistant Financial Controller. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will support the CFO in overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial insights to support firm-wide decision-making. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in a dynamic, fast-paced legal services environment. Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management accounts; Support the budgeting, forecasting and other financial reporting processes; Supervise day-to-day accounting functions, including timesheets and billing, accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger reconciliation; Assist in the management of working capital, including WIP and debt collection analysis; Monitor trust and client accounts ensuring proper reconciliation and use in accordance with legal standards; Provide support in payroll processing and benefits accounting; Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard firm assets. The successful applicant will have: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent); Degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred; Minimum 3 years' relevant experience working in a law firm or professional services environment; Familiarity with law firm accounting systems and Bermuda Bar rules is highly desirable; Prior experience working with practice management software (Tabs, 3E or similar); Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; High proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel and Word) and financial reporting tools; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.

Requirements
