Financial Controller

Job Type: Permanent

Financial Controller to manage all aspects of planning, reporting, and accounting for FIS and Associated Companies for internal and external stakeholders. Requires working closely with all areas of the company including Underwriting, Claims, Broking, Life & Pensions, and Compliance.

Requirements

- Internationally recognized accounting designation (CA, CPA, or equivalent) - 6+ years relevant post-qualification work experience - Previous experience within the insurance industry is preferred - Experience with BMA regulatory reporting (BSCR, CISSA, FCR) - Experience with local Bermuda taxes - Working knowledge of General Ledger systems, preferably Quick Books - Working knowledge of Underwriting systems, preferably Juniper - Proven track record in system implementation, automation, and operations management - Experience in leading, managing, and training a team of finance professionals - Technical Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications - Proven ability to analyze risks, trouble shoot and problem solve - Excellent analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize tasks and assignments - Ability to relate and interact with a range of clients and use diplomacy, tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive matters - Strong sense of urgency, practicality, and integrity with the ability to handle and balance multiple priorities with excellent time management skills - High degree of initiative; cooperative spirit and ability to work independently as well as in a team focused environment
