Assistant Director

Works under the direction of the Director of Educational Standards and Accountability and in accordance with the relevant legislation and departmental policies and procedures, to manage the operations of an assigned cluster of schools, to ensure that principals discharge their duties and responsibilities efficiently and effectively and are held accountable for the organization, management and delivery of programmes to school children in accordance with the approved curricula. The Assistant Director also undertakes the necessary consultation, and liaison with ministry officials and parents and guardians in respect to the delivery of programmes and services at the schools. In addition, the postholder undertakes financial and human resources administrative duties and consultation and liaison and associated duties within the Educational Standards and Accountability Section.

Requirements

The Postholder must possess a master's degree or equivalent in educational administration and a professional qualification in an education discipline. The Postholder must possess a Bermuda Educators Council License. A minimum of five (5) years' relevant post-qualification experience in educational administration in the Bermuda school system including three (3) years' experience at the senior management level is required for the post.
