Visual Merchandiser

Reporting to the Retail Manager and Team Leaders, the Visual Merchandiser creates attractive and functional merchandise displays throughout the store aimed at maximizing the store's revenues, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Creates attractive and well thought out merchandise displays, keeping in mind department layout, visibility and accessibility. Liaises with the respective department supervisors and buyers regarding the timing, concept, and layout of the visual merchandising projects Maintains a neat and organized work area as possible during visual merchandising projects Schedules as much of the project as possible to happen outside of peak business hours Uses visual merchandising equipment only as intended and follow instructions regarding assembly and weight restrictions Stores all unused equipment in its designated area and according to its safety and maintenance requirement Works closely with the Logistics and Floor Planning Analyst to develop visual merchandising plans, and priorities Performs maintenance as needed on department equipment such as sign holders, fixtures, display units, etc. Provides a friendly and professional approach with customers and fellow employees and helps where necessary Performs assignment within timeframes established by the department manager Continues to develop knowledge in the fashion trends, merchandising, and subjects relevant to the position by attending classes, seminars, reading periodicals and online information Works after hours including Sundays as requested by the department manager based upon business demands Performs any other reasonable requests asked by the manager or management team

Requirements

Associate or bachelor's degree in a related discipline an asset A minimum of one year retail experience or visual merchandising experience Ability to work and respect others working with different personalities, and be reliable Creative background including visual merchandising and art skill Lift a minimum of (50) fifty pounds and work on a ladder up to (5) five feet Basic computer skills would be an asset Excellent customer service skills
