The successful applicant will have had extensive experience in the hospitality renovation and construction industry as a general contractor. The primary responsibilities will be the supervising of Senior Project Managers and Superintendents at a hospitality construction renovation project including the organization, planning, and scheduling and administration required to complete the work on time, within budget, and to the quality specified. A thorough knowledge of general contracts and subcontracts, construction documents and specifications, construction means and methods, and procedures for ensuring quality control is required. Further requirements of the position involve an understanding of estimates, trade allocations, control of health and safety, knowledge of industry tools and equipment, the production of project schedules, co-ordination of subcontractor activities, awareness of changes in the work and control of the labour force. This position will also function as a mentor and instructor to several hospitality construction management, superintendent and field layout apprentices. Additional knowledge in the areas of hospitality construction costs, line and grade for survey, estimating and engineering principles and techniques, and accounting procedures would be a benefit along with leadership and interpersonal skills.
