Works under the direction of the Permanent Secretary with dotted line reporting to the Ministry of Finance (MOF) and is responsible for the financial management, reporting administration, and management of resources associated with the Ministry. In addition, the post-holder will be engaged in the strategic planning, budgeting process, financial and managerial accounting and control for the Ministry. The post-holder will be responsible for ensuring that accurate and timely financial information is available and adequate controls are applied in accordance with Financial Instructions. As the Ministry Comptroller, the post-holder will also be required to carry out any other ministry duties as assigned by the Permanent Secretary and/or Ministry of Finance. Is responsible for the financial management, reporting administration, and management of resources associated with the Ministry. In addition, the post-holder will be engaged in the strategic planning, budgeting process, financial and managerial accounting and control for the Ministry.

Requirements

The post-holder must be professionally qualified in Accounting and be a full member of an internationally recognized professional body such as Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, etc. A minimum of five (5) years relevant post-qualification experience in finance and administration including experience in a senior position is required with a minimum of two (2) years experience working with a major financial system. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft products and enterprise accounting systems. Additional experience in government accounting would be an asset.
