Our client the Belzile family which is a private household is seeking a reliable and experienced Live-In Child Caregiver. The child's care, safety and well-being will remain the primary focus during working hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive, nurturing and age-appropriate childcare, including feeding, diaper changes, bathing, soothing and maintaining sleep routines.
- Prepare and sterilize bottles, feeding equipment and other baby items.
- Engage the child in age-appropriate play, reading, developmental activities, walks and outings.
- Maintain the nursery, toys, baby equipment, clothing and child-related laundry in a clean and organized manner.
- Accompany the child to appointments, playdates and activities as required.
- Keep the employer informed regarding the child's daily activities, health, development and well-being.
- Follow the employer's instructions regarding childcare, safety, discipline and the administration of medication.
- Prepare simple meals and undertake grocery shopping, and reasonable household errands.
- Provide light household support, including tidying common areas, laundry and dishes.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years' recent experience in a comparable private household child caregiver role, including care of babies and/or young children. Current First Aid and CPR certification or recognized equivalent. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in child safety, hygiene, feeding, developmental routines, bottle/meal preparation and nursery care. Ability to prepare simple meals and undertake grocery shopping and reasonable household errands. Ability to maintain a clean and safe environment, including tidying common areas, laundry and dishes. Valid Bermuda driver's license required for child transportation and related duties. Ability to follow established routines and instructions, communicate effectively with the employer and work independently while prioritizing the child's safety and well-being. Must be willing and able to reside in the employer's home as this is a live-in position. Willingness and ability to travel internationally with the family as required.
