Specialist Electrical Fitter

BELCO is seeking a Specialist Electrical Fitter to join our Transmission, Distribution & Retail (TD&R) team who will take responsibility for erecting and maintaining switchgear and other substation equipment. Key Responsibilities • Perform HV switchgear testing and install electrical cables • Install, commission, test and repair transmission and distribution equipment • Perform preventative maintenance, periodic inspections and trouble shoot faults • Lead team, allocate work and provide guidance to lower grades and apprentices • Maintain records of all maintenance and repairs Education, Experience and Skills • High School Certificate or equivalent • Technical Qualification such as BTEC, NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds (Part II), ONC or the equivalent in an appropriate discipline • Excellent computer skills with experience in computer programming; Microsoft Office applications and other programmes associated with the position • Strong analytical thinker with excellent problem solving abilities • Ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals of various standards
