Senior Analyst

The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) is seeking the services of a skilled and capable individual to work as a Senior Analyst in our Policy Development, Strategy and International Affairs Department. Reporting to the Principal, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for undertaking research and policy development projects, as approved by Senior Management, contributing to the Policy Development department achieving its deliverables within scheduled timeframes and, more broadly, supporting the strategic plan and overall objectives of the Authority. This is a key role for the Authority and the post-holder will be responsible for but not limited to: Conducting research and analysis integral to the Authority's policy programme, which contributes to the achievement of the Authority's business plan commitments and corporate objectives, Policy Development Department objectives, and other research initiatives driven by the Authority or any external parties Participating in policy-related forums, including international meetings and conferences, relevant to projects undertaken Contributing to the processing and resolving of policy-related questions posed to the Authority by other regulatory agencies, international bodies or external sources Lending support to any internal queries and working closely with front-line and support areas of the Authority in providing interpretation and advice on policy and regulatory provisions and helping to facilitate the resolution of policy issues that may arise relative to legislative, regulatory and industry matters Assisting in the preparation of discussion, consultation and other policy papers, along with rules, statements of principles, guidance notes and other policy documents reflecting the Authority's regulatory policy initiatives Performing other related work and special projects as assigned by management in accordance with competencies normally associated with the post This position requires a proven technical and business background. Therefore, the post-holder should have: A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., finance, wealth management, economics, or policy) from a recognised institution. In addition, a professional designation(s) in a finance-related field would be an asset A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience in the financial services industry and/or working experience with a financial regulatory body and/or a public policy-making institution
