VP Lead Model Production Actuary, Institutional Business

Global Atlantic is looking for a VP Lead Model Production Actuary, Institutional Business to join the Bermuda Actuarial team. This role will be based in our Hamilton, Bermuda office and will lead the model production supporting Economic Balance Sheet (EBS) and Embedded Value (EV) valuations. Key Responsibilities: • Serve as the head of the Bermuda Actuarial Modeling team. • Lead the Bermuda Modeling production team in producing ALFA projections supporting EBS and EV valuation. • Lead modeling automation and modernization (including transition to the Integrate platform), incorporating changes in liability and asset cash flows and improving ALFA modeling process. • Support analysis and communication of valuation results to management. • Support Risk and other teams in calculating the Bermuda Solvency Capital requirement (BSCR) and other capital metrics under internal and external stress scenarios. • Support audit and regulatory requests and implementation of BMA's regulatory framework enhancements.. Support onboarding af new deals assumed by the Bermuda-based entities. Liaison of Bermuda Actuarial Modeling Team and onshore Actuarial modeling team and Milliman for the Bermuda-based entities. • Provide ALFA modeling expertise to the Bermuda Actuarial team and address ad-hoc questions related to BEL modeling. • Manage the Bermuda modeling production team and mentor other actuaries. Required & Preferred Qualifications: • 12+ years' of experience in the (re)insurance industry. • FSA (or equivalent). • Life and Annuity experience strongly preferred. • Experience with ALFA modeling.. • Experience with Bermuda EBS framework. • Knowledge of US GAAP and US Stat relating to life and/or annuities preferred. • Strong technical and communication skills. • Strong Excel knowledge. • Strong coding language experience required.
