Acumen Recruitment Ltd. is hiring a Our client, AIA Reinsurance Limited (“AIA Re”), a Bermuda licensed reinsurer, is a wholly owned subsidiary of AIA Group Limited (“AIA”) is seeking a Head of Financial Planning & Analytics to join their team. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Coordinate production of the annual three-year Business & Strategic Plan and assume responsibility for financial forecasts and projections, budgets, variance analysis, key business drivers, cash flow, capital adequacy, scenario analysis, dividend capacity and more, in adherence with Group requirements. • Lead the annual budget process, including collaboration with business partners to generate a financial projection with credible financial estimates based on justifiable assumptions and meaningful business descriptions. Provide guidance, insight, and constructive feedback to ensure business units develop strategically aligned and financially disciplined plans. • In partnership with Head of Finance, communicate quarterly updates on financial performance, forecasts, and progress in reaching objectives. Proactively identify issues and recommend solutions to senior management and the Board. • Develop, implement, manage, and maintain an effective planning and analysis capability to provide senior leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance. Ensure effective communications, timetables, and data requirements are provided to stakeholders. • Develop and utilize financial processes, systems, models and analysis of trends to drive decision making and communicate relevant messages across the business. Ensure the integrity of financial models and projections through implementation of suitable controls, documentation, and testing. • Provide senior management and the Board with accurate, relevant, and timely information to enable it to assess financial performance against AIA Re strategic objectives. Conduct and report on trend analysis. • Develop, and implement, a KPI reporting dashboard fit for measurement of performance relative to targets. • Responsible for project management components and execution of strategic objectives, working in collaboration with cross-functional AIA teams, including: • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to model the financial impact and conduct due diligence on significant business change proposals/plans. Aid in the development of ad-hoc financial models and analysis to assist and support strategic initiatives, business cases, and scenarios assessment.Minimum Qualifications and Experience • Accounting qualification (CPA, CA, or equivalent). • Relevant university degree. • Minimum 8 years relevant work experience, including the life (re) insurance industry and, ideally, working with the Big 4 accounting firm(s). • Technically oriented with experience working with general ledger and reporting systems (ideally SAP). • Firm grasp of Bermuda EBS framework and ideally, IFRS 17, accounting rules and regulations. Strong comprehension of risk based regulatory reporting. • Superb written, presentation and verbal communication skills. • Experience communicating with executive audiences and external stakeholders.
