BNRE Bermuda Services Ltd. is hiring a BNRE Bermuda Services Ltd. (BNRE Services) seek applications to fill the role of Senior Accountant, Finance. BNRE Services supports the wholly owned subsidiaries of Brookfield Wealth Solutions. Reporting into and working closely with the Manager, Finance, the Senior Accountant will assist with financial reporting and treasury affairs and may be required to support other entities within the Brookfield Wealth Solutions Group (BWS Group).
Responsibilities:
Maintenance of the G/L for a portfolio of entities, ensuring that appropriate approvals have been obtained and that where relevant, the necessary corporate actions have taken place to authenticate accounting transactions;
Completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting procedures for assigned entities including the preparation of the reporting packages, which include bank and inter-company reconciliations, journal entries with relevant supporting documentation and a completed checklist
Maintenance of physical/electronic accounting records and files pursuant to internal control procedures
Assist with the review and coordination of the timely settlement of accounts payable (AP) invoices and other payment requests between different accounting teams and Treasury. Including ensuring the authenticity of invoices or payment requests and obtaining the relevant approvals before processing.
Working closely with internal audit to ensure financial reporting SOX controls are designed and implemented appropriately;
Assist provide support to the Group Team during the year-end annual audit.
Liaise with various stakeholder groups, both externally (auditors, administrators) and internally;
Prepare ad-hoc analyses and presentations for senior management group, as required.
Any other duties assigned.Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or other related technical discipline;
Professional accounting qualification (i.e., CPA, CA, ACA, ACCA) with at least 5 years post qualification experience in accounting/finance;
Experience with financial reporting or auditing (re)insurance companies under US GAAP or IFRS;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Results driven, highly analytical and great attention to detail;
Experience with Dynamics, Workiva, and working in a life-reinsurance start-up environment, strongly preferred.
