Assistant Golf Course Superintendent

Works under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent to plan and manage a comprehensive suite of programs to ensure the playing condition of the 18-hole golf course are maintained at a fully operational level. Directs employees and participates in all facets of the golf course maintenance program. Must have the ability to carry out duties without supervision and any task associated with the maintenance programme. Key Duties and Responsibilities include assisting in planning, scheduling and managing maintenance programs, maintaining records of daily activities, overseeing pesticide and fertilizer applications, monitoring repairs of the irrigation system, supervising the operation of the RO plant and drainage system, managing personnel administration activities, ensuring safety standards compliance, and identifying training needs of maintenance staff.

Requirements

Post holder must possess an Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Turf Management or Agronomy. Requires excellent communication skills. Must have knowledge of the rules of golf, golf course layouts/construction, and setting up of golf course for competitions/tournaments. Possession of a certificate in pesticide application will be an asset, must be able to respond to any problems which might arise on the golf course.
