This position requires a very organized, professional, friendly, and energetic person that has a passion and eye for color, stylised design, cake decoration and excellent customer service. This person is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and maintaining shop standards and directly liaising and working with the Manager. This job includes but is not limited to, Serving and assisting clients, Serving speciality coffee, beverages and desserts of all types and organizing, arranging and displaying food and items in shop. Taking detailed telephone and email orders pertaining to Wedding cakes, birthday cakes and orders for a multitude of customers and companies. Preparation of mis en place is essential and keeping front of the house clean is a must. Liaising with Manager on a daily basis is required. Selling shop items are required and knowledge of items is a must. Stocking of shelves and maintaining pastries and cakes rotation. Keeping all areas of shop clean. POS System experience and strong math skills are necessary. At least 4 years experience in a very busy bake shop and or hospitality is required. At least 2 years in Manager/assistant Manager position. This job is for someone wishing long term employment and entails working weekend, split shifts, public holidays, and be willing to work extended hours during busy periods. Applicants must demonstrate excellent timekeeping, and be able to work as part of a team helping others complete their tasks if necessary. BE TRUSTWORTHY, and operate well under pressure in a very busy environment. Excellent hygiene and appearance is a must. 2 written work references and resume required.
