On behalf of our client, SparYard Marine Solutions, we invite suitable candidates to apply for the position of Full-Time Marine Technician. SparYard is a full service boat yard specializing in general boat maintenance located in Dockyard Bermuda. Responsibilities: • Service, install and repair marine systems such as mechanical, electrical, electronics, and plumbing systems and will also be required to work with other technicians, assisting on larger or more complex projects as necessary. • Preparing and protecting boats for work, especially on larger projects • Troubleshooting and repairing common problems with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Installing new systems in boats such as lighting, electronics, and pumps or plumbing systems Assisting lead technicians with servicing and installing larger systems. Cleaning up customers' boats after projects, cleaning up workshop and workspace on a regular basis. Minimum qualifications and experience: • 6 years of similar experience at least 2 of which in the Marine industry performing similar work within mechanical, electrical, electronics and plumbing systems. Accredited qualifications in either mechanical or electrical systems. Knowledgeable in various marine systems in order to provide flexibility and support to the tech team. Knowledge of boat handling and experience operating heavy machinery is an asset. • Ability to work long hours, sometimes with short notice, as necessary to meet the high demand in the busy season. Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. Must be able to work within small teams and proactively communicate with management Basic level computer skills are required. Clean criminal background and excellent employment references required.
