Our client, JV Construction & Maintenance, is seeking a Top Grade Mason/Foreperson, who is highly proficient in all areas of masonry for both commercial and residential projects, with the ability to read and interpret instructions, work from plans, blueprints and specifications. Must be experienced and knowledgeable in the use of all masonry tools, techniques and materials used in the trade, be able to produce high quality finishes to all substrates, including setting out, laying block, plastering, stonework, brick laying, concrete placement, slating and formwork. Must have at least 5 years experience in all aspects of masonry. Should have a good manual dexterity, sufficient to perform a full range of masonry functions by hand or with electrical machines or trade equipment. The Foreperson's role is to manage client expectations and service standards, including scheduling to meet strict deadlines and to manage, co-ordinate and monitor the staff to ensure a strong work ethic and professional demeanour in dealing with co-workers and clients. Applicants must be reliable and fit to carry out all duties associated with the position and be able to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays when needed. Based on the nature of the position a security check will be required, resulting in satisfactory suitability before being hired for this position.
