On behalf of our client, Omega Contracting Ltd., we are seeking suitably qualified and reliable Drywall Mechanics and Drywall Finishers to join their reliable and professional team. Applicants must have at least five (5) years of consistent hands-on experience in the drywall trade, along with a solid understanding of the tools, materials, and techniques involved. The ideal candidates will be self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Applicants must have reliable transportation and their own tools. A willingness to work extended hours and weekends is essential, as is the ability to monitor project progress and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and a flexible, self-motivated attitude are key to success in these roles. Candidates should be fully competent in tasks such as mixing compound, taping, coating, sanding, applying texture, setting beads, and executing Level 5 finishes when required. Experience with GRG systems or similar is also essential. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in both residential and commercial drywall projects, including high-level fit-out environments. Familiarity with various finishing techniques such as form glass, and the ability to work with machine tools and walk on stilts, is highly desirable. Applicants must be capable of working independently, monitoring their own progress against project timelines, and organizing timely material deliveries. Qualified applicants should be proficient in all aspects of drywall installation, including measuring, cutting, and fastening drywall to both wood and metal framing. Familiarity with tools such as drywall lifts, screw guns, and stilts is necessary. Responsibilities will also include coordinating with finishers to complete seams using finishing compounds, framing metal studs, installing insulation, ceiling tiles, and doors, and preparing job sites by removing debris and setting up ladders or scaffolding. Candidates must be capable of reading and interpreting architectural drawings, accurately laying out work from plans, and coordinating material scheduling when needed. Experience working with a wide variety of materials and installation techniques, especially within high-level fit-out environments, is required. A solid understanding of acoustic ceiling systems and construction site procedures is also essential. Applicants should possess excellent communication skills and feel comfortable interacting with clients, architects, and other tradespeople. A proven track record of high-quality workmanship, attention to detail, and jobsite productivity is a must.
