AXIS Specialty Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, a NYSE-traded company and global specialty underwriter and provider of insurance and reinsurance solutions with locations in Bermuda, the United States, Europe, Singapore and Canada. The Bermuda-based Regulatory Financial Accountant ensures timely and accurate financial and regulatory reporting for all AXIS legal entities in Bermuda. This role involves overseeing the finance team in India, collaborating with global business units and support functions, and improving Bermuda financial reporting processes. Additionally, the successful candidate will contribute to the Company’s corporate reporting, including SEC filings, quarterly earnings releases, investor financial supplements, and conference calls. Success in this role depends on effectively managing and delivering high-quality services within set deadlines, while also driving process improvements that enhance productivity.

Requirements

An internationally recognized professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA or CPA), with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in the (re)insurance industry. BMA BSCR Class 4 and/or Group reporting experience preferred. Knowledge of U.S. GAAP as it applies to the insurance industry is a prerequisite; experience with SEC reporting requirements is preferred. Sound knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance business is required. Commercially astute with excellent analytical skills to understand numbers and their implications for the business. Exposure to Wdesk and Oracle general ledger systems is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
