Middle School Mathematics Teacher

Somersfield Academy, an International Baccalaureate World School offering both the Middle Years (MYP) and Diploma Programmes (DP) following a Primary foundation of a fully recognised Montessori programme, is seeking a professionally dedicated and suitably qualified teacher for Maternity Cover. We Value: A diverse and inclusive learning community Trust, independence and authentic responsibility Growth and personal achievement Respect for self and others Intellectual curiosity The strength and courage to stand for what is right Key responsibilities: Deliver subject lessons for middle school math courses following thelnternational Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme curriculum Design and conduct MYP assessments in integrated math and report on student progress Provide pastoral support in the role of homeroom advisor Inspire students to uphold high academic & social standards Establish clear and consistent classroom routines to ensure a focused, safe &caring environment Work together with colleagues and share best practices to support student progress Embrace the school's commitment to diversity, participating in all diversity- based initiatives Applicants must have the following qualifications, skills & experience: Eligible for or currently have a teaching license from the Bermuda Educators Council (BEC) Bachelor's degree in the relevant subject or a B.Ed. PGCE subject teaching qualification Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience Experience with teaching IB MYP or Key Stage 3 and 4 considered an asset Somersfield Academy is committed to safeguarding the children of Bermuda and supports the International Task Force on Child Protection.
