MSA After School Program Coordinator

The After School Program Coordinator is responsible for: Collaborating with staff to ensure a secure and enriching environment. Designing and managing program activities based on student and family needs. Overseeing daily operations and supervising staff. Maintaining strong communication with the school leadership and acting as the program's representative to parents and the school community. This role requires leadership, program planning, and a commitment to student well-being Key responsibilities include: Collaborate with program staff to develop a structured timetable and en-gaging activities aligned with MSA's mission, including homework support and enrichment programs. Plan and lead full-day camps during school breaks (October, December, February, April), including organizing crafts, STEAM activities, and field trips, ensuring all materials are prepared. Design and supervise developmentally appropriate programs that support children's academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth. Hire, train, and manage staff, including arranging coverage for absences and overseeing onboarding for new team members. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized leaming and recreational environ-ment. Create and distribute a monthly activity calendar for parents. Foster professional and consistent communication with families. Keep accurate daily attendance records. Monitor and address health and safety risks; manage behavioral incidents and injuries with proper documentation and reporting. Oversee inventory and ensure proper use and availability of supplies and equipment. Communicate regularly with school staff to support a cohesive working relationship. Be available for extended hours in emergency situations. Attend staff meetings and participate in ongoing training. Represent the program at ELP and kindergarten orientation events. Assist with budgeting and staffing considerations as part of the program's financial management. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with supervision of homework, structured activities, and free play. Ensuring the safety and well-being of students during after-school hours. Supporting students academically during homework time. Managing student behavior fairly and consistently. Communicating effectively with the Program Coordinator and school staff to maintain positive relationships. Being available for additional hours during emergencies. Participating in required staff staff training. Maintaining up-to-date certifications in First Aid, CPR, SunSmart, and SCARS

Requirements

Bachelor's or associate degree in education, child development, early childhood education, or a related field (preferred). Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with elementary-aged chil dren in an educational or childcare setting (preferred). Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, staff, and the school community Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to manage unexpected situa-tions calmly and efficiently. Must serve as a positive role model and represent the After School Pro-gram professionally to families and the wider school community. Strong organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing responsibilities Must possess sensitivity to confidential information and hold a high stan dard of integrity. Commitment to representing the school's Catholic mission with profession-alism and hospitality. Maintain up-to-date certifications in First Aid, CPR, SunSmart, and SCARS.
