Clinical Director, Clinical Supervisor & Occupational Therapist

CLINICAL DIRECTOR, INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES MID ATLANTIC WELLNESS INSTITUTE The successful candidate will oversee and provide strategic focus to the Intellectual Disabilities services inclusive of the Group Homes, Community Intellectual Disabilities Team and the New Dimension's Day Programme. They will have accountability for the effective and efficient utilization of resources allocated to the Intellectual Disabilities Directorate. Key responsibilities include: Defining the operational priorities and action plans to meet the organizational strategic plan within the scope of their directorate. Offering clinical expertise and leadership as a partner in carrying out the Strategic Direction and service development for the Directorate Ensuring that clinical, business and operational policies, procedures, and processes are evidenced-based, adhere to best practices, and meet accreditation and regulatory requirements with patient safety at the forefront. Monitoring clinical, human resources and operational indicators to identify, explain and correct variances in a timely manner as defined and required by the organization. Collaborating with other managers as appropriate to promote system solutions and resolve issues that cross directorate lines. Lead the d the strategic development and business planning for the Directorate ensuring that it supports the strategic direction of BHB, organizational goals and community needs. Qualifications & Requited Registrations Master's degree from an accredited institution 7-10 years progressive management experience in functional area Demonstrated interpersonal relationships in a manner, mmer, which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution and facilitates staff development. Skills and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical competence in caring for the specific age and type of patient population served Maintains current registration as required by the Bermuda Nurses Council, Allied Health Council or other appropriate professional body CLINICAL SUPERVISOR INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES Under the direction of the Clinical Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating activities of patient care administration, assisting with the development and implementation of policies and procedures and supporting all operational aspects of Intellectual Disabilities. Key responsibilities include: Offers clinical expertise and leadership as requested by Clinical Manager in carrying out the Strategic Direction and Service Development Assumes acting responsibilities for administrative coverage for Manager Assist with budget performance and labour costs for assigned area Ensures compliance with mandated regulatory competency training requirements for all employees within area of responsibility Assist with selecting, allocating and scheduling employees to ensure safe, quality, and efficient delivery of services within the Department Qualifications & Registration required: Bachelor Science Degree Nursing (BSN), Registered Mental Health (RMN) or Allied Health Discipline Three years management experience either in a supervisory or functional arca Current licensure and registration as required by the Bermuda Nurses Council, Allied Health Council or any other applicable governing body OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES Key responsibilities include: cy responsibil providing a first line crisis intervention service. Assessing patient's mental, physical, and emotional state and refer to doctor when necessary acting in advocacy role for clients when necessary (e.g. with DHSS employers, government agencies, etc.) ensuring that referrals are screened and assessed appropriately and determine degree of urgency supervising nursing team and to act as a preceptor for community team covering follow-up clinies, checking non-attendance and provide additional support service as needed by home visits, telephone contact, and/or office visits Qualifications & Registration required: hiatric Nursing or equivalent Bachelor's Degree in Psychiatric Nurs Five years post graduate experience in a Nurse Manager position or Supervisory Position in Mental Health Services Current knowledge of the Mental Health Act is desirable Registered with the Bermuda Nursing Council
