Consultant Neurologist

Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) strives to provide the highest in quality health care through service excellence, education and leadership. Under the direction of the Chief of Medicine and having a broad and depth of experience in Neurological Medicine, the post holder will actively participate in the delivery of high quality emergency and elective services. Key responsibilities include: Perform a range of general neurology procedures for patients, across inpatient and outpatient services, including the assessment of neurology patients in both settings. Participate in Stroke quality improvement and accreditation activities, provide guidance to senior staff on medical matters, ensure appropriate use of EMG nerve conduction studies, EEG and evoked potential polysomnography, and contribute to the multidisciplinary team through audit, research, and management of the service. Target and develop benchmark data to monitor quality improvement activities and proactively engage in risk management.

Requirements

Board certified in Neurological medicine, current registration with Bermuda Medical Council, and a minimum of five (5) years of experience as an attending Neurologist.
