Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute (Psychiatric Care Facility) is hiring a

Occupational Therapist

Key responsibilities include meeting productivity standards set by the department for direct patient contact and other related non-patient contact duties, performing an appropriate assessment on all in and/or outpatients following referral; using objective clinical measures to identify problems and formulate treatment plans based on realistic stated goals; carrying out specific therapeutic interventions as indicated ensuring that a client-centered approach is employed throughout this process, supervising and delegating specific written treatment plans to aides, assistants, and/or students, observing and evaluating treatment effect; communicating patient progress or lack of to appropriate staff and physicians, maintaining patient documentation using the appropriate paperwork, ensuring documentation meets current standards and policies; preparing specific clinical reports as requested, and keeping accurate and timely statistics of both direct and indirect time spent and preparing specific clinical reports as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required with certification, if applicable, in the jurisdiction of training. 1 – 2 years post-graduate experience in a related Occupational Therapy environment, preferably within a hospital. Local registration to practice with the Council for Allied Health Professions (CAHP) and meet all re-registration requirements. Experience working within a psychiatric setting and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; liaison with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality service and continuity of care. Flexibility and creativity to accommodate the needs of the patients, caregivers, and Rehabilitation Team. Improvement of Occupational Therapy services within the service. Diplomacy, ability to delegate and supervise assistants, aides, and students.
