To ensure our continued success, we require the services of a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our pharmacy team as an experienced Pharmacist Technician. The successful applicant will be responsible for: Follow all guidelines as it pertains to legislation, laws, including PIPA, and internal policies to ensure compliance within the dispensary; Assisting the Pharmacist in the dispensary for overall organization and workflow of the department; Enter orders into the pharmacy computer dispensing system; Prepare, fill and repackage all medication orders including narcotics; blister packs; special orders; Maintain all quality control records and ensure that all computer entries, manufacturing, repackaging and filling of patient specific orders are checked by a pharmacist prior to being dispensed; Fill all orders ensuring that items are in-date, properly labeled and packaged; Replenish dispensary stock by filling stock requisitions and charging stock accordingly; Inform Pharmaceutical Buyer of stock shortages/outages and significant changes in usage patterns, and receive and count inventory; Respond to requests that are of a technical nature and direct all requests requiring a Pharmacist to the Pharmacist's attention; Perform related clerical duties and assists with the general day-to-day operations of the dispensary including, but limited to answering the telephone, typing, filing, shredding, record keeping and date checking; Assist on the sales floor with cashiering and merchandising duties as required by the Pharmacy and/or Store Manager; Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the dispensary; Participate in shift rotation to include extended hours, weekends and public holidays; Maintain a high professional image at all times and ensures patient confidentiality is upheld; Perform other tasks as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.Diploma or Certification as a Pharmacy Technician; A minimum of 2 years' work experience as a Pharmacy Technician preferably in retail pharmacy; Ability to thrive with routine activities, well defined procedures in a fast-paced environment; Excellent mathematical skills; Well organized and self-motivated; Meticulous attention to detail with high accuracy; Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to stand for long periods, and work weekends/holidays, particularly during busy seasons.
