IMAGING RESOURCE TECHNOLOGIST

The Imaging Resource Technologist provides high quality medical imaging and related healthcare services for the Clients of the Bermuda Hospitals Board (BHB) in a safe and effective manner. Key responsibilities include: Performs examinations utilizing appropriate imaging techniques and positioning. Liaises and communicates with the Senior Imaging Technologist on a daily basis, ensuring that all issues / occurrences are brought forward within twenty-four (24) hours. Coordinates staff daily work schedules to ensure that all duties/ shifts are covered and assigned duties are completed on the day of service. Vets all requests to ensure the appropriate exam is being completed. Reviews all exams for the day to ensure that all work is completed in RIS and all documents are signed and ready for reporting on the day of service. Assists with the monitoring of image quality and performance (that is, daily Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance Programme (QAP), repeat/reject analysis). Coordinates/performs in-services to line staff and has oversite of staff in the performance and procedures on a direct and indirect basis. Provides input on department capital and operating budgets. Works with the Senior Imaging Technologist to coordinate training and orientation of new employees and students, providing guidance, coaching and feedback to line staff and student/volunteers on a frequent basis Qualifications, Experience & Registration required: Undergraduate degree in Medical Imaging or Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution. Certification from an accredited program: Radiology, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and certification in Mammography. Five (5) years post certification experience Current Registration in one or more or equivalent: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) Diploma of College of Radiographers [Radiodiagnosis] (DCRR)
