("Aspida Re"), an affiliated and regulated Bermuda-domiciled Class E licensed (re)insurance company. Aspida Re Services has a dedicated team of 13 reinsurance professionals based in Hamilton, Bermuda responsible for reinsurance pricing, operations, and risk management. For more information, please visit aspidare.bm. Aspida Re Services, are looking to fill the position of Financial Controller. The Financial Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") and have responsibility for a wide range of financial and management reporting requirements. They will be highly motivated and energetic, serve as an accounting expert and senior technical resource, with frequent interaction with the CFO, actuarial functions, investment managers, clients and the corporate parent. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Overall responsibility for the accounting of reinsurance contracts and investments including supporting analysis and preparation of monthly and quarterly reports for the CFO as well as Board of Directors and other key stakeholders Assist in the onboarding of new cedants across all business functions, and responsibility for ensuring all ongoing reinsurance deliverables are met Planning and coordination across source functions for the accounting close, remaining engaged in and providing analysis and control reviews of financial results Drive the preparation of monthly reconciliations including bank, trust and custody accounts Responsible for delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and Regulatory reporting deliverables, driving and coordinating the annual BSCR reporting Manage the assessment and reporting of capital and solvency retums to the CFO Creating and maintaining reporting tools to optimize information from the general ledger and/or financial data warehouse as required Coordinate with corporate parent Treasury/AP, FP&A and Financial Reporting departments as required Provide extensive support to both extemal and intemal auditors enabling the successful completion of intemal reviews and controls - conducted quarterly and annually Preparation of the annual operating entity budgets and monthly reporting of actual vs budget to the CFO and wider management team Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes working closely with all stakeholders across the Group Oversee the accounts payables function in coordination with corporate parent Treasury/AP department, to ensure timely settlement of all payments Provide extensive project support as required, including, but not limited to reinsurance, legal entity, regulatory and business transaction analysis Develop and maintain process improvement capabilities and monitor superior intemal control policies, processes and compliance standards Monitor new and emerging accounting policy developments and assess impact on reinsurance activities; collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, Investments, Risk and other stakeholders Operate as Bermuda Finance Department liaison with other corporate departments, including the asset management functions at AIS

Requirements

Successful candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: Intemationally recognized accounting designation, e.g. CPA, ACA, ACCA A minimum of 7 years post-qualified accounting experience within the (re)insurance industry; with a broad mixture of accounting, auditing and regulatory experience Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of accounting for life insurance and annuity products Direct experience of onboarding new block and flow cedents across multiple jurisdictions Prior experience in preparation, and ownership, of operating entity budget setting and monitoring Previous reporting experience, including US GAAP, BMA rules and regulations, BSCR and FCR for a Class E long term reinsurance entity, is required Superior demonstrable experience of analyzing and reconciling financial data Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills Self-starter possessing a high degree of personal and professional leadership Track record of building relations with senior management of extemal clients and provision of direct support to their business Embraces organizational agility and drive operational changes to support client, and internal stakeholder, needs and internal reporting and controls Ability to work well under pressure, act with integrity and is a strong critical thinker
