The Director of Advancement at BHS is responsible for the creation, implementation and management of the overall fundraising initiatives of the school. As a director, you are a member of the BHS leadership team, report to the Head of School, and serve on the Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees. The successful candidate will provide leadership, vision and direction to the fundraising efforts of the School. Responsibilities will include designing, managing and staffing the school’s long-range fundraising plan, managing prospect identification, soliciting gifts, recruiting and coordinating fundraising volunteers and the Advancement Committee, overseeing alumni activities, creating special events, and acting as a liaison with various school groups.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of (5) five years of proven experience in school fundraising and advancement responsibilities (preferably with at least three years in a leadership role). Experience and knowledge in key advancement areas (major gift, capital campaign, annual appeal, alumni relations, marketing and communications). Excellent interpersonal, written, presentation, and verbal communication skills. Strong planning and organizational skills. Strong PC and Microsoft Office skills, experience with databases preferred.
