Dunkley's is seeking an experienced mechanic to join our team. The mechanic reports to our Chief Engineer and is responsible for overseeing maintenance and repair of our fleet of vehicles. Normal working hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, however the mechanic must be available in case of emergency breakdowns during the early mornings or to work overtime in the evening to complete essential repairs. Main duties will include the repair and routine maintenance of our fleet of GMC / Isuzu NPR delivery vehicles, as well as all other motorized equipment at our facility. The candidate must have experience in all aspects of heavy vehicle mechanical repairs, including engine and transmission overhaul, welding, spray painting and bodywork as well as the ability to diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems. The candidate must be versatile. A good understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems as well as forklift and hydraulic systems is also essential for this position. Experience troubleshooting vehicle refrigeration systems is required. As we have a small engineering department the mechanic could be required to assist in other areas of the department if necessary. References that can speak to the candidate's experience working in a mechanic role are required.
