The Corporate Income Tax Agency Bermuda invites applications for two positions. The Corporate Income Tax Agency (CITA) is a statutory body established under the Corporate Income Tax Agency Act 2024. CITA is responsible for administering the corporate income tax regime. Director Taxpayer Services and Compliance Reporting to the Managing Director of Taxpayer Services and Compliance, the Director of Taxpayer Services and Compliance is responsible for leading the taxpayer services function at CITA, ensuring efficient, transparent, and responsive interactions between. corporate taxpayers and the Agency. The role exists to enhance taxpayer compliance, promote voluntary tax participation, and improve the overall taxpayer experience through the development of service delivery strategies, education initiatives, and digital solutions. The Director of Taxpayer Services and Compliance ensures that CITA'S taxpayer services align with Bermuda's corporate tax regulations, international best practices, and the agency's strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Oversee taxpayer support functions, ensuring that queries, complaints, and appeals are handled efficiently and professionally Implement strategies to promote voluntary compliance Build and maintain relationships with tax professionals, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies Develop a high-performing taxpayer services team Oversee the development of online tax filing, payment processing, and customer service portals Ensure compliance with Bermuda's tax governance standards Develop and maintain internal controls Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law, or a related field is required Master's degree in Taxation, Public Administration, Finance, or Business is preferred Professional certification such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA), or equivalent is an asset Knowledge of Bermuda's corporate income tax framework and international tax principles is an asset Good understanding of taxpayer rights and obligations. Knowledge and understanding of OECD and international tax regulations, including Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) standards Expertise in public sector administration, governance, and regulatory compliance related to tax operations Minimum of 9 years experience in taxation, financial services, or public administration Experience in stakeholder engagement, including working with corporate taxpayers, government rnment regulators, reg and industry bodies Experience managing large teams and leading service-oriented functions ensuring operational efficiency and support Chief Legal and Policy Officer The Chief Legal and Policy Officer (CLPO) reports to the CEO and is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the Legal and Policy Division, Persons in this role also provide legal and policy guidance to the Board, the CEO, and the Executive Team and ensures compliance with Bermuda's corporate income framework and international regulatory standards. The CLPO plays an essential role in protecting CITA's legal integrity and contributing to the day-to-day direction of the agency. Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Provide comprehensive legal and policy guidance and advice to the legal team, the CEO, other members of the executive team, and the Board Provide strategic leadership in establishing and evolving CITA'S governance framework, ensuring robust oversight, board alignment, and full compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations Provide executive oversight of all contractual and legal negotiations Provide sta strategic leadership in legislative and regulatory reform, overseeing the drafting of tax legislation and driving the modernization of tax laws, compliance frameworks, and governance structures Lead legal oversight of regulatory impact assessments related to tax policy reforms Establish and maintain a high performing legal team Oversee the legal and policy research and lead the legal strategy on emerging developments in corporate income tax, ensuring timely, high-level guidance on their impact to Bermuda's tax landscape Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from an accredited institution Admission to the Bar or equivalent legal qualification in a recognised jurisdiction Master's degree in Law (LLM), Public Policy, Tax Law, or a related field is preferred Admission to the Bar equivalent legal qualification in recognised jurisdiction In-depth knowledge of corporate income tax law in Bermuda and the regulatory enviorment and legislative framework would be an asset Proven experience providing legal advice and guidance at the Board level and at the executive level, including risk assessment and mitigation A strong background in internal and external stakeholder engagement, including working with government agencies, regulators, and industry bodies Demonstrated experience in policy formulation, legislative drafting, and legal interpretation A minimum of 15 years of post- qualification experience in a legal role with at least 10 years experience in a legal role at the executive level is required Extensive post qualification expertise in tax policy and legislation is required Post-qualification experience leading legal teams and advising on strategic legal and policy matters is required
