Generator Technician/Diesel Mechanic

Our client BAC Universal Electric, Bermuda's longest serving electrical contracting and supply Company, have an immediate need and invite applications for the following positions: Generator Technician/Diesel Mechanic The individual selected for this position will report directly to the Service Manager. Duties & Responsibilities: Perform commissioning, testing and maintenance on diesel/propane generators and associated systems sized up 2000Kw. Perform regular scheduled service and load testing as per maintenance contracts Read and interpret blueprints, specification, system software programs, schematics, and manufacturers manuals Supervise, inspect and install equipment to meet all applicable codes (NFPA-70) Evaluate and diagnose equipment that requires servicing, as well as troubleshoot problems Provide specific solutions and recommendations to customers on the most efficient and cost effective methods to return equipment to proper working order Ability to respond to emergency calls as required Minimum Qualification, Experience & Skills: 3-5 years experience servicing repairing diesel and gaseous fueled equipment generator systems or related equipment Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude Prior experience with brands such as Onan, Caterpillar, MTU, Siemens and Shindaiwa, Kohler Certifications in major generator manufacturers' equipment a plus Good verbal and written communication skills Basic computer skills Candidate must be self motivated, good organizational skills and be able to work with little or no supervision Clean intermediate driver's record a must. Proven competence in the troubleshooting and repair of control systems, ATS's and Sync Boards BAC Universal Electric offers a remuneration package and comprehensive staff benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience for the position.
